Q: How often do you cut your sod?
A: We cut our sod daily from our farms in Ham Lake and Elk River to give you the freshest grass available every day of the week.
Q: Is your sod guaranteed?
A It is important to understand that sod is a living thing that must be cared for properly. If not properly maintained, even the freshest sod may experience undesirable results. Therefore, we cannot guarantee our sod. Fortunately, it is extremely easy to take care of your new sod. See our installation and maintenance tips to learn more.
Q: Why do some companies guarantee their sod?
A: When companies guarantee their sod, they do so under very strict rules. These rules may include permanent underground irrigation systems, proof of fertilization and water treatment, or the absence of animals from the yard. We prefer to help our customers get it right the first time rather than give them the false appearance of a guarantee under impossible conditions.
Q: How much sod will I need for my project?
A: Our sod rolls are 2×6½ feet and come 54 rolls to a pallet. We understand calculating yardage can be annoying and difficult, so we have provided a sod calculator for your convenience. All you need to do is enter the length and width (in inches) of the area you wish to sod, and our calculator will tell you exactly how many rolls you will need.
Q: How do I lay and take care of my sod?
A: It is generally very easy to lay and take care of your sod. Please see our installation and maintenance page for full details.
Q: What type of sod do you sell?
A: We grow and sell Premium Blue Grass. It is a beautiful, dense green lawn that is very winter hard for our cold and unpredictable Minnesota weather.
Q: What are some of the benefits of sod?
A: There are many benefits to sod for all aspects of life and society. Sod and proper landscaping increase and grow property value. Sod gives you a comfortable living space for recreation and events. Sod can also help you offset your carbon footprint. NASA Ames research shows that 37 billion pounds of carbon are stored in U.S. lawns alone each year. It prevents soil erosion, reduces water runoff, and cleans the air of dust and pollution. These are just a few of many benefits of sod.
Q: How do I know how much mulch I need?
A: Similar to our sod calculator, we have a convenient mulch calculator that tells you exactly how much you will need. All you need is the length, width, and depth of the area you wish to lay your mulch.
